The unique metal art celebrates Team Penske’s 5oth Anniversary of competition.
GLENDALE, CA – Thursday, June 9, 2016 – To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Team Penske, one of the most accomplished teams in motor racing, Motor Marc Lacourciere unveiled a special piece of metal art that was presented to Roger Penske at the recent Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix.
The unique creation features IndyCars racing on the streets of Belle Isle set across the distinctive Detroit skyline and featuring the Team Penske 50th anniversary logo unveiled earlier this year.
Michigan Governor Rick Snyder jointly presented the large metal art piece to Penske during opening ceremonies on June 5, 2016 before the first Chevrolet Dual in Detroit presented by Quicken Loans Verizon IndyCar Series race of the weekend.
When introducing Motor Marc and his metal art creation, Governer Snyder said, “He is an exceptionally gifted artist internationally known for his extraordinary works of art including classic automobiles, motorcycles and rock ‘n’ roll music fine art.”
Penske gratefully accepted the gift by saying, “This is something real special, Marc, it’s one of the best I’ve ever seen. It really represents 50 years of hard work. But most important, it represents all the people who have done so much for me; giving us this success. Thank you.”
