The book is slated to be released late June 2019 by Centerstream Publishing.

Currently teaching History of Rock n’ Roll at Iowa State University, author Ryan Sheeler takes an in-depth look at Ritchie’s music in a different light than other accounts. Included in the book, are photos and information on his famous guitars, as well as an observation into how he might have approached his playing.
“I’ve been a fan of Ritchie’s music for a long time,” said Sheeler. “As a student and teacher of guitar and rock music history, I felt that he deserved a place among the early rock guitar greats.”

Ryan Sheeler is a guitarist, composer, and author from Iowa. He is a Lecturer in the Department of Music at Iowa State University where he teaches the History of American Rock ’n’ Roll. He co-authored From Bakersfield to Beale Street: A Regional History of American Rock ‘n’ Roll with David Stuart and is also the author of Playing for Eternity: Resource Guide for the Electric Guitarist in Worship. He received his M.A. in Interdisciplinary Graduate Studies (Music Composition/Musicology) from Iowa State in 2006, and his B.A. in Music from Iowa State in 1997, with additional graduate study in Music Theory/Music History at the University of Iowa School of Music.
