Los Angeles, CA – May 24, 2019 Valorous TV, the all-new digital streaming subscription service from Valorous Media, Inc. digitally premieres the newest original documentary, Forgotten Heroes: The Robert Hartsock Story. This documentary film is directed by New Shepherd Films President, Jim Huggins.

“This has been a story I’ve wanted to tell for years. SSgt Hartsock’s sacrifice had a ripple effect through time few even know about today,” said Jim Huggins. “A huge thank you goes to the family and his comrades from the 44th Infantry Platoon Scout Dogs who helped us tell this tremendous story. And of course, we’re very grateful to Earl Benjamin and the team at Valorous TV for believing in this project.”

The film has already won multiple awards, both domestically and internationally, including best documentary, best trailer, best director, best producer, and special recognition for audience impact and research.

Forgotten Heroes is a compelling and compassionate story of one young soldier who became the only military dog handler awarded the Medal of Honor. Sergeant Hartsock’s story is a tribute to the proud and enduring legacy of our military working dogs. This award-winning documentary interweaves Bob Hartsock’s dramatic story with a close look at military dog handlers and their role in the Vietnam War while exploring the major issues America faced during this generally unpopular war. What makes this documentary stand out is that few people realize over 10,000 American lives were saved by the actions of over 4,000 military working dogs and their handlers during the Vietnam War. It is a fascinating, untold story presented through eyewitness accounts, rare footage, and harrowing accounts of brushes with death.

“We are thrilled to be part of Forgotten Heroes – The Robert Hartsock Story,” said Earl Benjamin, President and CEO of Valorous Media, Inc. “The film brings a unique story to the screen that will captivate viewers. We’re excited to be able to bring another film from New Shepherd Films into the Valorous TV roster.”
