Los Angeles, CA – June 7, 2019 – C3 Entertainment, Inc., an entertainment company specializing in licensing, production, and distribution, has licensed Ritchie Valens International government-issued, collectible stamps, and coins via the philatelic network, Inter-Governmental Philatelic Corporation (IGPC).
“Very excited to be working with IGPC again, as I know the quality of their work and the added value their products will bring to the Ritchie Valens brand,” said Ani Khachoian, Executive Vice President of Licensing & Consumer Products at C3 Entertainment. “We’re thrilled to be able to bring him to an international audience and expand into a whole new category.”
The initial release will include 1 to 2 custom stamp designs, then expand to eight stamp designs. They will be released on the East Caribbean Island of St. Vincent and will be available for purchase in all local post offices as early as July of this year. The stamps will also be available for purchase through IGPC’s website.
“Ritchie Valens is an icon. It only makes sense to place him on official commemorative postage stamps from St. Vincent,” said Yossi Malamud, representative for IGPC. “The Caribbean countries have always had a close affinity to the U.S., and pop culture is a huge way to keep connections to the U.S. alive.”
The Inter-Governmental Philatelic Corporation (IGPC) was founded in 1957, shortly after the newly found African Nation of Ghana gained their independence from the Gold Coast Nations of West Africa. Recognizing the need for their own independent post office and government-issued currency, IGPC was charged with the task of assisting the Republic of Ghana in building the Post Office for this young Nation.
As word of success by IGPC spread, countless African Nations called upon IGPC to assist. Within a short period of time, IGPC was approached and sought after to become a one-stop postal and philatelic agent to emerging nations around the world. Since receiving its first client nation in 1957, IGPC has continued to grow its organization with representing Government Postal Administrations throughout the world.
Through the years, IGPC has proved to be a pioneer of innovative philatelic products, with inventions like the Sheetlet (a scenic painting divided into 25 stamps), resulting in its products being adopted by the postal authorities of Australia, Canada, China, Great Britain, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Russia, and the United States.
IGPC is recognized today as the world leader and most respected philatelic agency representing more than 60 international government postal agency globally.
